Beaphar has extended its pheromone calming range with the launch of Beaphar CaniComfort for dogs, which contains a synthetic copy of the dog appeasing pheromone.
The dog appeasing pheromone is naturally produced by the bitch during nursing to help calm her puppies, and is clinically proven to promote feelings of reassurance in dogs of all ages and breeds, Beaphar said.
CaniComfort has been launched in time for bonfire night. According to the RSPCA, around 45% of dogs show signs of fear when they hear fireworks.
Dr Sue Huggett, Beaphar’s UK business manager, said: “Following the successful launch of Beaphar CatComfort last year, we were keen to give our retailers a pheromone calming solution for dogs as well.
“The introduction of Beaphar CaniComfort means that pet retailers can provide cat and dog owners with a simple and effective solution to support their pets during stressful situations, such as the firework and New Year period, as well as throughout the year.”
To support the products in-store and encourage customers to buy, Beaphar has created a marketing support package.
Vicky Le Fanu, Beaphar’s UK marketing manager, added: ““While the use of effective calming products are essential over the firework and festive party season, they can also be used to support our pets through other stressful situations, such as travelling, moving house or thunderstorms.”
