Bimeda UK has launched the second, ‘Silver’ module of its three-part online Nutrition Academy.
‘Trace Elements for Ruminant Growth’ has been accredited with eight AMTRA points. The module concentrates on calves and lambs, with specific focus on rumen development, and on the important role that trace elements can play in ensuring optimum growth and development of young ruminants.
The module discusses best practice for mineral audits, as well as the benefits of different forms of supplementation, where a deficiency has been identified.
Mark Cokayne, Bimeda’s general manager, said: “At Bimeda we are passionate about helping animal health professionals to take a scientific approach to nutrition.
“With our online Nutrition Academy, we are responding to a demand from customers who tell us that there is a need for quality CPD in the area of trace element nutrition. Like us, our customers want to assist farmers in moving away from a guesswork-led approach to nutrition, and towards and science-led approach.
“I am confident that this new module will prove to be an important educational tool for SQPs and other animal health professionals.”
Earlier this year, Bimeda launched the first of its online Nutrition Academy modules; Bimeda Trace Elements in Dairy Cow Fertility & Pregnancy, which was accredited with nine AMTRA points.
A third module will be added later in the year. Those who successfully complete all three modules will receive certification from Bimeda, as well as some exclusive branded goodies.
