Mole Valley Farmers is hosting a series of Calf Talk webinars following results from its large scale farm survey, which showed 79% of farmers wanted to improve calf health.
The initial three webinars will set out to provide solutions to some of the key challenges highlighted in the survey which involved 540 farmers and calf rearers from across the UK. This included improving calf health and performance, reducing antibiotic use to treat pneumonia and hitting growth targets.
The 40-minute lunchtime events will be hosted by vets and nutritionists from Mole Valley Farmers and its partners to provide practical, on-farm solutions.

Thursday, June 24: The first 24 hours – two months in the planning
Vet Johanna Marsden of Molecare Farm Vets and Scott Carter, technical manager for Mole Valley Feed Solutions, will talk about the impact of dry cow nutrition on colostrum, vaccination strategy and general calf nutrition.
Thursday, July 8: Antibiotic reduction and respiratory challenges – let’s take a breath
Katie Scotter of Molecare Farm Vets and Navaratnam Partheeban from Phibro Animal Health will cover risk factors around respiratory disease and prevention.
Thursday, July 22: Maximising youngstock productivity
Vet Andy Adler of Molecare Farm Vets, and nutritionist Chris Lavis from Mole Valley Feed Solutions will talk about setting growth rate targets in dairy and beef calves and how to accelerate growth.
The webinars start at 12.30pm and will include a 10-minute Q&A session.
