Defra confirms 109 cases of avian influenza in England since October 1, 2022.
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said there has been 109 confirmed cases of the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 in England since October 1, 2022; there have been 243 cases in England since the H5N1 outbreak started in October 2021.
On Monday (November 14), the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 was confirmed in commercial poultry near Doveridge in Derbyshire, and at a second premises near Oundle, Northamptonshire.
A 3km protection zone and 10km surveillance zone are in place around the premises. All poultry on the premises will be humanely culled, Defra said.
