Professor Pat Harris, one of the world’s leading authorities on equine nutrition, will be sharing her considerable knowledge at the SPILLERS brand’s forthcoming webinar on Caring for the Senior Horse on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
Professor Harris will be joining Sarah Nelson, SPILLERS nutritionist and product manager to share valuable insights to help you care for your senior horse or pony, including practical advice, feeding guidance and management solutions.
“Whether you’re facing specific challenges or simply want to improve your understanding of senior horse care, Pat and Sarah’s advice and practical tips will leave you feeling confident and empowered,” said Claire Dyett, marketing manager at Mars Horsecare.
“Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from some of the brightest and most passionate minds in equine science.”
Professor Harris is the director of science for Mars Horsecare and the head of the WALTHAM Equine Studies Group. Her work has influenced equine management practices on a global scale, with a particular focus on senior horse nutrition, obesity, laminitis, and digestive health.
She has published over 500 scientific papers, abstracts and book chapters, making her one of the most prolific contributors to equine science.
“What makes Pat truly remarkable, is her personal connection to senior horses,” said Ms Dyett. “Over the past decade, she has spent much of her free time caring for ageing horses, gaining hands-on experience that complements her scientific expertise.”
During the webinar, Professor Harris will share highlights from her research and explain how the latest findings in senior horse care can be applied to your horse.
Ms Nelson is product manager, overseeing the technical management of all Mars Horsecare feeds, including recipe formulation. She works closely with leading scientists, including Professor Harris, to ensure SPILLERS products are backed by the latest research and meet the highest standards of equine nutrition.
The webinar will give AMTRA SQPs the opportunity to earn five CPD points for their professional development, and all attendees will be able to test their knowledge with a quiz and receive a certificate upon completion.
