The Veterinary Medicines Directorate has reported that a non-UK authorised medicine was identified by a courier company based at a depot at East Midlands Airport.
The package arrived from Bulgaria containing medicine destined for a residential address in Shropshire.
The medicine – 108 boxes of Biheldon tablets for animals – was detained and subsequently seized by an inspector.
This product was intended for use in dogs and cats and is not an authorised veterinary medicine in the UK. The medicine was seized under Regulation 25(1) (Importation of an unauthorised veterinary medicinal product) of the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013 (as amended).
