Vets, SQPs and sheep farmers are invited to find out more about adopting a comprehensive approach to finishing lambs off grass at an online workshop next month.
The Access to Knowledge (A2K) webinar, hosted by Elanco Animal Health, will take place on Tuesday, May 20, from 2pm.
Elanco ruminant technical consultant, Matt Colston, said the webinar will provide a valuable opportunity to find out more about spring parasite challenges and how they have the potential to impact finishing lambs off grass.
“As always, we have an exciting line-up of speakers confirmed who’ll cover a range of topics from worm control and early season blowfly strike prevention to the secrets behind a successful RAMA-farmer relationship,” Mr Colston said.
“Well-known farming influencers are among the speakers, including Cammy Wilson from The Sheep Game, Nicola Wordie from Livestock FarmHER, and Will Roobottom from Cowley Hill Farm.”
The agenda for the workshop includes:
- The Parasight Live – Ben Strugnell, from Farm Post Mortems, will give an overview of what is being seen in his post-mortem room;
- SQP-farmer relationships – the trio of farm influencers will discuss what makes a successful relationship with their local SQPs;
- Seasonal worm control – independent sheep consultant, Nerys Wright, will discuss how to manage worms; and
- Shearing and blowfly strike – The Sheep Game’s Cammy Wilson and Matt Colston will discuss shearing and early season blowfly control.
The webinar will conclude with a Q&A session, where attendees can ask the expert panel any questions.
