Louise Stonier has left Pets at Home after more than 20 years with the retailer, having held several senior roles within the business.
Ms Stonier, who most recently served as chief operating officer and managing director of the retailer’s Vet Group, announced on Linkedin that she has joined Medivet as chief operating officer for the UK and international markets.
She first joined Pets at Home back in 2004 as head of legal, spending 10 years in the role before advancing to positions such as chief people and legal officer and later chief people and culture officer.
As an executive board member, she guided the business through two private equity ownerships with Bridgepoint Capital and KKR and an IPO together with the acquisition of Vets4Pets in 2013.
Medivet, which has a network of veterinary practices with over 350 locations across the UK, has appointed Ms Stonier to help drive its continued expansion.
In November, Pets at Home saw total group revenue rise by 1.9% to £789.1 million, up 1.6% on a like-for-like basis in its first-half results for FY25, despite operating in a “subdued” retail market.
The pet specialist said its Vet Group remained a standout performer, with revenue growth of 18.6% in the 28 weeks to October 10, driven by a combination of increased subscriptions, higher average transaction values, and more frequent visits.
