The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) has expanded its training programme for UK and international veterinary medicine professionals.
Responding to growing demand for the VMD Introductory Wholesale Qualified Person Course, the VMD Training Centre will offer the course as an online version, combining live presentations and interactive workshops over two mornings on Tuesday, January 28, and Wednesday, January 29.
Delivered by the VMD Inspection Team, the course introduces the role of the Wholesale Qualified Person (WQP) and their responsibilities in a veterinary wholesale dealer premises.
The VMD Training Centre will also launch a new course titled Veterinary Medicines Master- class: VMD Inspectors’ Guide to the Regulations.
To be held in Birmingham on Wednesday, March 5, this masterclass will provide an in-depth guide to the principles and protocols essential for the responsible management of veterinary medicines, including updates on amendments to the Veterinary Medicines Regulations (VMR).
Designed for veterinary practice managers, veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses, veterinary pharmacists and anyone involved in veterinary dispensary roles, the masterclass will provide critical insights into the safe and compliant handling of veterinary medicines.
VMD’s Training Centre co-ordinator, Ali Pitfield, said this course aims to support those in such roles to be able to fulfil their responsibilities with due regard for both clients and animals, and confidently manage veterinary medicines, ensure proper storage, and dispense with greater assurance.
